Experience is the only way

At the first sight of the photography series “My God” my instant remark was that it was the same with the title.  
Although I was very familiar with Qiu Minye’s original and unique works, indeed the new series build up a new way of describing the world with pure experience. 
 
The “image” is floating lightly in a soft space like a song. The artist only tells the motion and outline, regardless of light, shadow, color and other necessary common conditions. The image equals to the existence itself. We try to identify the object, not difficultly but sentimentally addicted. 
The aesthetic process of appreciating photographic works is more a pleasure of seeing than a shear identifying. This creation has its own goal and dimension from the very beginning. The artist has found a way to remove the identity of an image and in the meanwhile creates the exquisite shape, life and texture.
 
Externalizing the experience by philosophical thought is the artist’s high requirement for himself. Qiu Minye has found a new way of recording time, which makes us sigh for the nature and thus feel the gratitude to the artist for giving us the opportunity to experience the nature.
 
“My God” provides us a visual perception and at the same time answers an important question: in contemporary art how can the importance of experience get new emphasis? This is exactly the question that many artists ignore.
